Alameda County’s schools are gearing up for another International Walk and Roll to School Day event this October. Last week, Tess Lengyel, from ACTC, spoke with Roberta Gonzales on our local news station, KPIX, about the benefits of Safe Routes to Schools. There are 225,000 students enrolled in k-12 schools in Alameda County and over 100 schools participating in SR2S this year. Students are encouraged to walk, bike, roll or carpool to school with their parents, friends or classmates to get to school.
