This week at the Safe Routes to School National Conference, Nora Cody from Alameda County SR2S received the 2016 Hubsmith Safe Routes Champion Award for her leadership and commitment to equity in ensuring that kids can walk and bike to school safely.

This national award is given to an individual who has demonstrated leadership, commitment, and positive impact on Safe Routes to School in their community. It is named for Deb Hubsmith, founding director of the Safe Routes to School National Partnership, who dedicated her life and career to advancing the Safe Routes to School movement.

Congratulations to Nora for this tremendous honor which reflects the work of the entire Alameda County SR2S program supporting healthy kids, safer streets and strong communities across Alameda County.
