Alameda County Safe Routes to Schools
Celebrating Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day 2024
Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day is an annual event that takes place on November 14th to honor the legacy of civil rights activist Ruby Bridges. The purpose of this event is to celebrate Ruby’s courage and inspire students to make positive changes in their community.
Alameda County celebrated this event by encouraging area students to learn about the legacy of Ruby Bridges, walk to school on November 14th, wear purple, and practice inclusivity by inviting friends and family to join on the walk to school.
